Definition –


Stillman’s clefts are apostrophe shaped indentation extending from & into the gingival margin varying distance on the facial surface.


Named after- Paul R stillman.

Types-


There are two types of stillman’s cleft –

  1. Simple cleft – cleavage in one direction .
  2. Compound cleft – cleavage in more than one direction.

Etiology –


Occlusal trauma.
